These range from general-purpose labs to specialized facilities for xenobiology, planetary geology, atmospheric analysis, and anomalous phenomena. Many labs are modular, allowing equipment to be swapped out between missions. Storage areas for samples and data cores are interspersed throughout the science decks, giving the ship a dense, layered internal structure. This abundance of lab space is the defining feature of the Oberth-class — the ship exists to observe, analyze, and understand. |
